Senior Research Scientist at INFLPR and Associated Professor at the Physics Faculty, University of Bucharest, heading PhD in Optics, Laser and Spectroscopy. Formerly Science Officer at the European Commission DG RTD (COST Secretariat, Medicine and Health, 2001–2004) and at the European Science Foundation COST Office (Biomedicine and Molecular Biosciences, 2004–2006). Published more than 120 papers, obtained 10 patents, and presented more than 350 invited papers or communications at national and international conferences. Co-authored two books. Member of 12 national or international societies. Research interests: inter- and multidisciplinary laser/optical spectroscopy, tunable lasers and chaos theory, nano-biomedicine, nano-pharmacology, and environmental monitoring using CRDS, FTIR, fluorescence, and opto-acoustic spectroscopy.
