Scientific Researcher 1st degree
He is currently a senior researcher with the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics, Măgurele, Romania. He was continuously associated with this institute since 1992, from junior to senior levels. He obtained a Diplomate Degree in Physics Engineering from University of Bucharest in 1992 with the thesis “Optical processing of information” and a PhD in Optical Sciences and Technologies from University of New Mexico in 2000 with the thesis “Sensitivity-optimized scatterometry”. Between 1996 and 2003 he was with the Center for High Technology Materials, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, as a doctoral student and as a post-doctoral fellow.
He published 35 articles in journals with impact factor, 4 invited lectures at international conferences, 3 book chapters and numerous other articles. His research interests include scatterometry, reflectometry, Fourier optics and diffraction, holography, interferometry and the theory of errors. Noteworthy are his works on the optimization of the measurement configuration for determining the parameters of diffraction gratings from scatterometry measurements, the optimization of reflectometric methods for the determination of the optical constants of metals and the fast Rayleigh-Sommerfeld transform.
