Simona is a student in the third year at University of Bucharest, Faculty of Biology with specialization in Biochemistry and she is the person in the group focused on the biological effects.

She is performing UV-Vis absorption and FTIR spectroscopy and implementing microbiology techniques constitute a part of her competences.

Preparation of medicine solutions or foams and isolation of nucleic acids or proteins are some skills that she can carry out in our laboratory among with techniques such as electrophoresis or PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for separation or amplification of the nucleic acids or proteins.

She can perform clinical tests of different serum proteins and she acquired knowledge in synthesis and metabolic ways of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. As part of her curricula at University she also followed a course in microscopy that helped her in some studies for her diploma research, where she is encapsulating a drug in nanoparticles in order to test the effect of the drug emission on cancer cells.
