She studies the behaviour of tuneable diode lasers in extended optical cavities looking at their chaotic emission. Measurements at lasing thresholds and mode change conditions are made measuring the spectral emissions and chaotic properties of the emitted laser beams. Results about coupling extended optical cavities that contain diode lasers with chaotic emissions in teh system mastre-slave are alos developed. Cristina Onea is physics professor at the National College "Mihai Viteazul" in Bucharest and succeeds to combine didactic activities with research.
